Art making is Soul making! Everything you see on this page (and throughout the site) are my own creative works. I offer this glimpse my own artistic evolution; not as examples of ”Fine Art”, but so you can see that you don’t have to be a Rembrandt for your art to be good and worthy. It just has to come from YOU. There is no value judgement to artistic expression, only the style that perfectly (or even imperfectly) expresses YOU!

  • Tears Beyond Tears, Knowing Beyond Knowing (2017)

This is the final version of this artwork; completed in 2017. It now hangs in my house, where I see it every day and am reminded of my brother, and the healing power of creativity and dreams.

  • Royal Messenger (2020)

My artwork is quite often fueled by dream images. I painted Royal Messenger during a period of intense dreams featuring crows. At the same time, a butterfly migration the likes of which hadn’t been seen in a decade painted our neighborhood with colorful, living confetti. I ended up with this beautiful messenger by combining symbols from waking and dreaming life.

  • Cartography of the Soul

Created in 2018 as part of my graduate studies in Jungian psychology, this artwork gives a snapshot of my past, present and future as I saw it during that period of my life. I offer workshops and I love guiding clients through this process to create their own Map of the Soul.

Mapping the EthereaL

In 30 years of dream journaling I have collected a LOT of dreams - and a lot of images.  Utilizing the concept of mapping the interior landscape I create images that embody the dreamscape, a creative endeavor of Mapping the Ethereal.

Inspired by the work of Hieronymus Bosch and the surrealist painting movement the following works recycle both concrete and unconscious materials. Mingling past and present dream images and using post consumer cardboard as canvas, I utilize found images to mirror the way that the unconscious recycles events, thoughts, and ideas and feeds them to us as images in our dreams. The images here serve not as exact replicas of the dream image, but instead evoke the feeling tone of a dream. Each artwork is inscribed with the dreams which inspired it.

I Dream of Black Horses (2021)

40” x 70” acrylic and found images on cardboard

Based on a recurring dream from childhood infused with a sense of being set upon a trajectory, it seemed that, at least for a time, anything was possible and every image filled with a sense of wonder. This work explores the sense of curiosity and wonder of the dreamscape as it carries forward a sense of potentiality, destiny, and unbridled joy.

  • The Sophia Note (2022) 36" x 46"

A response to the 2022 Supreme Court Dobbs decision, this work celebrates that there is no ONE way to be feminine. Gaia, Durgha, Mary; life and death, power and sex, the sacred and the profane; all demonstrating the beauty and diversity of the feminine in all of her glorious and terrifying expressions.

  • Better you should have a kind heart (2022) 36" x 46"

The Butterfly Effect describes the idea that small causes may result in large effects; so too a small occurrence in conscious life may trigger a disproportionate reaction in Psyche. Eternal, complex and interwoven forces - sex and death, creation and destruction, still infuse with a sense of wonder and delight.
